Hey guys,

I'm lookin to build a good rig on an $800 budget, and I wanted to get some different ideas before I started tackling it. I'm currently really fresh when it comes to the PC scene and building a rig, but with all my friends getting into PC gaming, and college coming up I'm looking to invest in a good rig so I can match performance with the rest of them. Like I said I'm fresh to the PC gaming scene so if you guys could help a kid out that would be so awesome.

Thanks Guys.

Do you want to include a monitor and keyboard+mouse in that budget?

Well I currently have a mouse that I like, and then I have a logitec wireless keyboard that does me pretty well, as for the monitor, I was gonna HDMI out to my 32" vizio that I already use for a second screen on my Toshiba laptop... I probably will get another monitor, I'm looking to get at least 2

Hmm, the build I suggested and the one Joe suggested are pretty much the same, I'd just like to add that the R9 280 I suggested has more shader units, better memory bandwidth, better texture rate, better memory bus, more TMUs, more cache, a good enough cooler and lesser price.

See I'm also looking for a pretty good looking case, like a Termaltake case but I dont know how compatability works with cases and the rest of the equipments

Ok I just included one of the finest looking case (with great features) out there, in the build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NGFHqs
I don't know if you like it, that's your personal preference. If you have any particular case in mind (like the Thermaltake you mentioned) just tell the exact model here I'll make sure its compatibile, or will suggest something close which is compatible if your suggestion isn't compatible.

I was thinking more like this Corsair, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-spec01redled
or this Thermaltake http://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-case-vn400a1w2...

Both are compatible will all other components, go with the one you like more. I'd go with the Thermaltake one :)

My friend studying PC Tech gave me this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LjyZXL which I personally dig

That CPU would need a good quality cooler, that GPU is very weak compared to R9 280. You'd need to OC the CPU to match i5's performance, moreover, FX is weaker in gaming compared to i5. A very unbalanced build.
