Windows 7 or 8?

So I am going to be building my PC within the next few weeks and I still need to order my operating system. I don't know if I should do Windows 7 or 8. If it is just based on preference I like windows 7 better but if they is a good reason to get Windows 8, please let me know. Thanks.

It really is a preference. There is a 1% performance boost if you get Windows 8 though. If you like the look and feel of 7 then stick with it. It is solid and will be for years to come.

Had the same dilemma had to think long and hard.as I had already tried win 8. and went back to my tried and trusted ?? 7.
Then my wife bought a new computer with win8.1.
And it is heads and shoulders above 8 amazing what a difference win8.1 makes. I have installed 8.1 for about 4 months now and am really happy with it.
Takes a bit of getting used to but I think its worth the effort. RonB22999
