Hello,

I've got an FX-8320 and I've come to notice that getting an R9 290 GPU will be bottlenecked by the CPU. If I were to overclock my CPU would it solve this or should I choose a different GPU instead? Any answers are much appreciated

-Thanks!

The. 290 will be fine in my opinion. Remember I said the 8320 goes well with the 290 and I showed some evidence. So it will be fine when you overclock your CPU. Like I plan to get an overclock CPU but will not overclock until my PC is old. :)

If I had the money to fork out a bit more then I would be going with the 290. Yes if you overclock your CPU then the most suitable choice would be the 290 as they go hand in hand as I have heard this in the forum or even the 290x.

Alright, and I've got a Hyper T4 cooler, would that be okay for overclocking my CPU to 8350 speed? And is overclocking a particularly difficult task?

Awesome, I'll check those videos out, and what do you mean by it isn't stable?

If you overclock your CPU to a high frequency then it may not be stable so it doesn't crash.

Oh god lol, so my most "Stable" option would be 280x and a standard clocked 8320?

So your saying if I got a 290 with my 8320 and overclocked I'd be fine? Or if I just got one and stayed at standard speeds?

No worries. Don't overclock too high with the cooler you have now. But if you want higher frequency get a better cooler.

Don't forget there are plenty of 8320 overclocking guides over the internet. :D
