Hello,
I have this problem with my 2 day old screen.
Yesterday when i bought the screen i could play Battlefield perfectly on 2560x1440p and 144hertz.
But today when i play on 144 hertz, the screen goes black when i start Battlefield and the message Out of Range appears.
When i play on 59 hertz there is no problem and i can play again.
But i want to play on 144 hertz on my 144 hertz monitor.
Can anyone help me please?

Greetings, Dexter.

This's what I found most relevant:
1. Uninstall all NVIDIA drivers
2. Reboot computer
3. Disconnect and reconnect DP cable
4. Install NVIDIA drivers

It's working again... for now :s

I had the problem with 2 out of 2 games.
Battlefield 4 and Dynasty Warriors 8.
They didn't work before but now their is no problem anymore for both games.
I think this is a come and go issue and maybe has to be fixed with a driver update.

Known issue. The monitor sometimes switches itself to 60Hz but the video card stays at 144Hz and thus you get an out of range. Most common when alt-tabbing to the desktop but it will also happen randomly.

The NVidia 334.11 drivers released 9/19/14 solved this problem. Been heavily gaming since installing them and the issue has disappeared.
