I've got this PC that for some reason only wants to display *anything* if the cmos battery has been taken out.

Now however, it won't display anything with or without the battery. Everything inside seems to run just fine. No beep sounds, just a blank screen. However, now the keyboard doesn't even light up when the machine is started.

I've disconnected everything not vital.

RAM oughta be fine. Switched the PSU but to no avail.

Help?

Do you hear the windows sound when you boot up? If Windows is booting then it may be something getting in the way of your graphics.

Are you running a GPU or are you using Onboard graphics?

what are your build specs?

There's no windows on it, so no. No windows sound ;)

The graphics card is some shitty PCIe which enjoys getting hot.
Supposedly a radeon 9550 ish...

It's a Medion (german brand). Model name says PC MT 7.

1 gb RAM (for the moment). Has been switched as well.

Before when it would at least boot WITHOUT the battery, I was able to install linux on it. Windows xp install gave a BSOD and win7 just hangs at end of install.
