You mean that the Corsair aren't good at PSu's? cuz i can't find a better psu from xfx, seasonic or antec that is around 60€ ..all these are 90€ or smth like that? Should I change it with a corsair cx750m? how ever both are 80+ bronze certificated

Listen. a low quality corsair is lightyears better then a low quality coolermaster, in fact, calling it low quality only muddies the conversation considering how poor psus can get. The issue people have with the CX is the quality gap is quite large between the corsair CX lineup and their high end AX psus. Because corsair (actually the ax units are made by seasonic) has such a high quality psu in their lineup, it only makes the CX look bad in comparison.

The reality is this. Unless you plan on owning a SSD (and i really suggest you consider it) and you don't mind not using the new c7 power state on that haswell, and don't plan on doing extreme overclocking, you don't NEED anything more then the CX unit. Just don't expect it to last forever

I had a CX400 for 3 years driving an overclocked 125W phIIx4 965be, and eventually a 80W hd7770... worked just fine. never gave me an issue. it was dead silent as well... still have that unit laying around in case i need a spare psu.

it was far more reliable then a +80 silver rated 1000W enermax platimax i tried to replace it with (a friend gave that to me)... worst psu i ever touched. i should have known something was wrong with it when i had extreme difficulty reaching the same 3.8ghz clock i had with the corsair. that psu killed a motherboard when it MELTED the 12V cpu plug... that's right... it arched so much power it started a small short fire. thankfully all it killed was the motherboard. but i threw that junker out. terrible unit. (btw: check out on the tiered psu list where the platimax and cx are located, the platimax is a tier 2 psu, and the cx a tier 3)

I had no idea the old cx400 was a seasonic. well that will color my experience a bit won't it? lol. no wonder i loved it. loving my current seasonic build xfx psu too.

Lol yeah that is the main reason people bought the new (2011) CX units when the came out; because the older ones were VERY good units an VERY highly rated. The new (2011) ones released as CWT units with junk capacitors and everyone bought them up because the had the same name on the side.

Corsair is VERY sneaky like that. Same with the current RM units. The 450, 550, and 650 units came out first and reviewed VERY well as they are very good quality. Then everyone was all "we need the 750w and 850w unit! This series is great!" Well Corsair knew WELL in advance the plan here. The RM750 and RM850 are nowhere near the quality of the other RM units. They use junk caps (same ones form the CX units) and are basically the same internally as the CX units. The even lie on the box and claim "High quality Japanese Capacitors". They are able to sell these units for alot cheaper compared to the rest of the line of RM units so people bought them up fast. Little did they know they were buying barely tier 3 units. And BOOM now RM750 and RM850 units are failing left and right and everyone is mad.

Corsair has and always will be one of the sneakiest and conniving PC part companies out there. Though, they are AMAZING with business, as you can see if nothing else than the fact that people will buy their low quality stuff even when they KNOW it is bad. Corsair really has done an amazing job becoming "A staple for Quality" when this is really not the case at all.

I wouldn't say they've become a staple for quality. The real claim to fame for corsair is their out of this world, top notch customer service. It's their customer service and warranties that make them stand out from the rest of the equipment venders. Its their customer service and their incredible product support that allows people to buy corsair product with no fear of lemons or poor quality.

Search for anyone saying something bad about corsair's customer service. it simply doesn't happen. If your psu fails they replace it, in days, if it damages your motherboard they replace it too... if your h100 leaks and kills your psu, motherboard, cpu and ram, they'll replace it all. no kidding. They take their customer service and product support very seriously.

My experiences with corsair customer service have all be excellent including recent experience. it's that type of product support that earns them a tremendous amount of good will.
