Critique My Build

Hello everyone!

I am new here (this is my first post :pt1cable:), although I am a periodic browser. Anyways, my old dinosaur desktop is about done for, and I am in the market to buy/build a new desktop. Browsing through all of the available websites, I have determined I can buy a new rig for close to as much as I can buy all the parts and pieces for....so that being said, I believe I am going to have one built for me (unless you guys can really show me how/why I can do it cheaper and better of course!) Now, on to the good stuff....

My computer is used for very little, really. I browse some forums that are dedicated to my hobbies (computers, reef tanks, dogs, etc), do a bit of word-processing here and there, a very small amount of image editing for family photos and the like, and checking e-mail. Aside from that, and the main reason for the new comp is gaming. I am an adult family man/father/husband by day and a hardcore gamer by night, lol. I play World of Warcraft and occasionally RIFT..that being said, I want to make sure that this rig can handle WoW 25-man raids on maxed out settings (or darn near). I figure if I am going to build something new, I might as well get what I want.

Anyways, I understand technology is like driving a new car off the lot, and no matter what I get it will be worth half as much by the time I get it and obsolete in a year. So...I am not trying to break the bank here and am hoping to stay in that $750-1000 range. The closer to $750 the better, lol. Obviously, I would like the comp to be able to handle any future upgrades (is a 5-year machine asking too much?, not sure?) as well as be able to run current video games and perhaps some future ones should I see fit. That being said, on to my build:

You do not need max case fans. The stock fans are fine. They will put SUPER cheap fans in there if you select the option and they will be LOUD.

What brand is the PSU?

Unselect McAfee. it is the worst program in existence for the most part.

The rest of the build looks fine, but if you want to max games at 1080p, I would suggest no lower than a 270x or gtx760.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I will deselect the extra case fans and McAfee (I typically use AVG and Malwarebytes anyways).

As for the PSU - it doesn't list a brand, it just states that it is an 80 point certified PSU?

I will look into the advanced video cards you suggested as well.

Available PSU selections - ThermalTake, CoolerMaster, NZXT, Corsair

Also - Concerning the GPU - isn't the only difference between the R9 270 and the R9 270X the ability to OC? Which really would only add 5-10% performance?

If I do switch to the 270X, there is an option for a standard R9 270X and also a HIS IceQ R9270X....any preference one way or the other there? Or even better, there is an XFX Double D Radeon R9 280 3GB DDR5 for the same price...which then?

I am sorry for the plethora of questions! - it just seems the more I try to learn the more options became available! lol

Also - can you critique the CPU? Decent? Better available for the money? etc.
