hello, i am new here. my question , i have a gateway sx2841-09e desktop with 512mb gpu i installed. cpu and mobo spec are :
CPU: intel pentium dual core G6950
MOBO: not sure who makes it, but chip set is h57d01 with bios american megatrends inc, p01-b3
i installed the i5 760 in the mobo and it powers up but the monitor doesn't get single, so put back the pentium cpu and everything works just fine. i have tried a different a more powerful psu and same problem. taking out the gpu and re-installing it, ram too. i get the same thing, so i believe it came down to the bios and i need to update it. i have looked on gateway's website for bios update for this model desktop and they don't have any bio versions at all, also went to american megatrends inc website and couldn't find the bios update. if anyone can help me here, oh and i dont want to buy a p55 mobo i just want to work with what i got.
