Hi i have searched the web for a while but cant seem to find a solution for my problem. I see dark square artifacts in the darkest areas of pictures. I have not seen it in any games, it only seems to appear in still images. It really annoys me because both my graphics card and my monitor is relatively new (2 months).

I have a Benq xl2420z monitor, and a evga gtx 780 sc w/acx cooler

(its not as noticeable in these screenshots, as it is in real life)

Well, those photographs are compressed. Compression works by, amongst other thing, reducing the resolution of unfocused and dark parts of the image. Those images are maybe too compressed, if the squares are that noticeable.

Well, if it was not noticeable before (on the same images and videos), then I don't know.
