I've noticed when I've been playing the Sims 2 recently that a message has been appearing asking me to close the game to lower my RAM usage. This is when I have 6gb of memory and only the game open, no internet browser or anything else. When I check my RAM usage when I have nothing loaded up, it says that 'Service Host: Local System' is using up 46mb and Windows Antimalware Service Executable is taking up about 40mb, and after that there are a few programmes using around 10mb before it drops down to a few using around 2mb. So there is no majorly obvious problem, yet my usage is still hovering at 79%. Does anybody know what I can do about this? Thanks.
Windows 8.1 memory usage at 86% when on desktop.

If you click on the memory tab under performance, it should list them from greatest to least. If nothing unusual comes up, check to see if you are running a 32 bit version of windows. To check, press windows key + i and click PC info. If you are using 32 bit, the memory will be throttled.
