you can see my system in my desc. a few days ago i came back from vacation and tried to turn my pc on, all i got was a short kinda click, nothing else. the fans dont turn on, nothing does. there are leds on the board and gpu that say that its not the psu's fault. accidentally i found out that if i unplug the cpu power cord everything turns on. there's no video because of the processor not being powered. when i plug the cpu power back in, again just a click, then nothing. can anybody think of an idea what might be happening here? thanks a lot

NarcoGamer i had about the same issue. I unplugged everything and tried step by step power on, first put 1 dimm of ram if you have 2 and try to power on withought gpu on just use your onboard, if it fails to power on try the other dimm of ram. Remember to unplugg everything even the front panel and start your pc from the onboard power on button. If it fails to power then you sadly have to rma it. I also thought it was my psu but it wasn't it was the motherboard.

Try an RDP.
Unplug power lead from the unit.
Hold the power button pressed in for 20 seconds.
Release the button then plug the power cable back in.
Now try to power up again.

Yes the power cable that powers your unit.
By cutting the power off and keeping the button pressed in you empty static from capacitors.

Most likely your board rather than your PSU. Like you said, you have LEDs on.
Take all the components out of the board (cpu, graphics, ram) and resit them back in. You might have a dodgy contact/shorting somewhere.

I recently bought a second hand motherboard on ebay. I had the same problem, couldn't get it to start. I had recently bought some motherboard batteries so had previously replaced the old one with a new one, old one out new one straight in. When I had exhausted all sources of knowledge (clear cmos etc..) I removed the motherboard and retrieved my precious battery. But I don't give up that easily. I refitted the motherboard and most components and replaced the battery, the machine started up straight away. I think it was the fact that I had left the battery out for so long, The post screen was prompting me to reset to default values,

Hope this helps
