Should I do this? [Chassi airflow]

Hi,

Im thinking of placing a 72mm intake fan for the CPU as a temporarily solution to improve cpu cooling. On the picture below, just infront of the CPU cooler, on the top, thats my idea to place the fan. What do you guys think? Would it make no difference at all, or maybe it would disrupt the airflow and just be generally bad etc?

OR, should I just replace the 120mm top exhaust fan and place it on the area I stated above, and make it intake? Is it enough with one exhaust fan on the rear?

The layout you have is fine w/o the added fan. The only problem with having an intake and exhaust that close together on the top of the case is that it may set up a circular flow between the two fans and never add to the cooling. Personally, I'd leave it out. The cooler's fan is so close to the top vents, it will have no problem pulling in fresh air on its own. I doubt the added fan would do anything other than add more noise.

Ok, thank you very much for your assistance! :)
What about placing a 80mm intake in the front inside that cage? Would that also have no positive effect on the CPU cooler?
If no, then I guess I must invest in a liquid coolingsystem in the future :)

Adding more intake air volume may be beneficial. But if you are having that much trouble cooling your processor (OC'd?), you may want to consider a better air cooler or a 240mm AIO liq cooling solution. Also keep in mind all else being equal, that large diameter fans move air with much less noise than small fans.
