New Gaming Rig Freezes Shortly after Startup

My new gaming rig keeps freezing (mouse can move, however windows doesn't respond) about 5-10 minutes after startup.

My ram frequency keeps changing in speccy? Strange?

Try wiping and re-installing your video card drivers. I had a similar issue and it was 100% video card driver related, wasn't exactly the same, but the way you described the crash is. Also use Whocrashed to see if any errors are generated http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed, and then wipe and reinstall the video drivers, do a true wipe after it is uninstalled with http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html

So I reinstalled windows and it seems to have fixed it. Actually I think one of the drivers for my mobo was corrupting files in my ssd because the windows repair thing appeared while booting up and said it was repairing a disk sector. No problems since, and I think I'll skip that driver.
