Hello

I currently have a Toshiba satellite C650 laptop with 2x 2GB sticks (1RX8 PC3 8500S - 7-10-B1) and have just purchased 2x 4GB (1RX8 PC3L 12800s 11-11-B2) sticks online from a local selling site. If I put both sticks in, the laptop crashes once the OS starts but if i put one of the two (doesnt matter which) it starts fine.

The memory would not be bad because if i put the sticks in individually they both work but just not together. Is the laptop not compatible for that much memory or does anyone have any ideas?

Probably just that they don't want to play, that's one of the reasons they make DRAM in a variety of packaging, the sticks in a single package are tested to play together, that's the only way the manufacturers will guarantee sticks to play if from a single package

hmm ok. Heres another question, I am looking for a Bios upgrade and the only ones i am seeing are for model psc12E but mine is a psc12C. Do you think that will still be ok to use? Psc12c is not even showing in the list of models.
