Can a "Windows 7 Ready" motherboard have Windows 8 for the OS?

This summer, I decided to build my first computer! Recently, I got my motherboard (here are the specs http://) and in the user guide it says, "This motherboard supports Windows XP/Vista/7 Operating Systems (OS). Always install the latest OS version and corresponding updates to maximize the features of your hardware." With the rest of the hardware, I got Windows 8. So my question is, do I need a different motherboard that supports Windows 8, or am I good with the one I have?

Thank you! :D The wording of what it said in the users guide made me very confused.

It should be able to run Windows 8.1. Just a quick glance at the board spec though, it doesn't have UEFI, which means you won't be able to use the Win 8 fast start up feature, but other than that usually Win 7 compatible hardware means Win 8 compilable.
