Hello everyone,

I am hoping you can help me with a CPU fan issue that's been driving me nuts the past year or two. My issue is that this fan was always quiet no matter what the load was. Then it started 'spiking up' whenever I would load a page that had flash video (youtube, web radio stations, etc). I realize the fan is supposed to be on but I could tell a difference between when the fan was running quietly to when it was going louder and louder. The louder aspect would only happen whilsts watching YouTube. It currently turns 'full speed on' whenever I load my PC now, no matter what apps are running. Even its if just explorer, it keeps going extremely loud and it wont go quiet.

Here are some screenshots of my specs;

It used to be that if CPU got to 65c, the fan would 'kick into faster speeds' now it happens even if its down at 29c.

I've cleaned the inside of my pc-box & fan 2-3 times now to now avail. What could be causing this? Is my fan telling me its on its way out? What type of remedies can I attempt to do? Would getting as new fan fix this?

Model: H8-1330z
Processor: AMD FX-8150
OS: Windows 7 - SP1
All drivers up to date.

Any helps if greatly appreciated! Thank You all very much in advance.com

Have you updated the BIOS at all, ever? You can try resetting the bios back to defaults if you're not overclocking or reset it to "optimal settings" and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't you might have a bad sensor. Are any of the cores showing unusual readings AT the time the fans go crazy. Are the screenshots above taken while the fan is acting up? Try this BIOS first, especially updating the BIOS if you haven't and then we can go from there.
