I was wanting to get some info on my new build. The GPU is where im stuck, I would like to know if Crossfire is worth it for a lower card or to get a single higher card. Case in point I was looking at getting a R9 280 or getting a cheaper R7 and then shortly after buying another to run crossfire as budget is an issue up front. I dont need tripple monitor i will be using 2 at 1080 and would like to run ultra at 60 fps, i play a wide range of games from BF4 to minecraft. So any tips would be appreciated. I know i can get a R9 280 and then crossfire but would take longer then getting cheaper first. I will be using the AMD FX-8350 for my CPU and 8gb of ram on a MSI 970 gaming MOBO.

More about : single crossfire gpu

You would prefer to get a better single card over a crossfired lower card.
It's best to AVOID crossfiring/SLI'ing.

Always make your priority a Single card as Crossfire isn't supported that much and has lots of troubles , crossfiring becomes a good option if you have an older card and you can find it cheaper than a strong new card then you see much better performance so in your case the R9 280 should satisfy your needs.

Ok I was kinda thinking that would be the case. So finally with the GPU being more important should i drop down the CPU to a FX-6300 to save money and put that into a better GPU like a R9 280x or something even Nvidia since i wont need crossfire. thanks again guys

8320 is 30 bucks cheaper I think and the 280x is 40 bucks more expensive so go with the 8320 and 280X
