What kind of upgrade would best help my PC in ARMA III?

- - Singleplayer 50 FPS or so, but large 70 player games give it 12 FPS or so.

Solution

overclocking the ever loving crap out of that 4300 would probably get you the best results. Though it will never play great... Arma3 plays like junk on overclocked i7s... it's just a single threaded title...

overclocking the ever loving crap out of that 4300 would probably get you the best results. Though it will never play great... Arma3 plays like junk on overclocked i7s... it's just a single threaded title thats horribly coded. the only thing you can do it on an AMD computer is OVERCLOCK like hell and turn the settings down a bit.

you can try upgrading the gpu to something stronger... that 50fps is probably your cap with that gpu... so a better one will help a bit. your motherboard will make it hard to get a great overclock... but you'll not find any better options in a mATX for factor. if your case can take a larger atx motherboard swapping that board out for a m5a99x evo would be a nice upgrade, atleast it will allow a better overclock

As for other things... get yourself a good cpu cooler... that will help the overclocking as well.
