From research it seems QNIX is the favourite but sometimes things change so just wanted another opinion on what is out there. I also have a modest budget of $600cdn or so and will take other suggestions if I missed one.
Colour quality is the primary concern as the T240HD I'm using has horrible colour and takes 30 seconds + to wake up from sleep .. if it does at all. Refresh rate isn't as important as I don't play that many fast moving games so 60 fps at ultra is better than 120 at medium for myself. Also 1440p as I've read that is more ideal for 27" monitors.

For the first two I've researched they look to be about the same with a slight edge to the QNIX but potential quality issues are it's major flaw , although I'd be using ledipsmonitors as they seem to have a solid return policy.
Other ones I've found: BenQ XL2720Z , reviewed well but not IPS has lightboost though
BenQ GW2765HT and BL2710PT , reviews are decent but suggested use is for CAD/Animation mostly with less vibrant colours

Can't really judge something that I don't actually have. I can tell you that at 27'' monitor, you can tell the difference between 2160p and 1440p, but that's really when you pay attention to it. 1080p will be easily to tell for sure.

At 27'' monitor, pls dont buy TN panel. Since I really regret I did so. TN sucks. The screen is big enough to let you see the color difference at the corner without moving your head.

I recommend to buy a VA/IPS panel with 1440p / 2160p 60mhz monitor.

I'm also looking at the BenQ GW2765HT but since it's newly released, there isn't much info out on it. From what I've read, people who bought it say the colors and clarity is really great but some have had quite severe backlight bleed.

I think what you refer is related to the type of LED the monitor has. Edge LED consumes less power but cause backlight bleeding. Full/Direct LED should solve the problem. Correct me if I am wrong.
