Nope, the X99 boards are a replacement for the current X79 boards that only work with high-end i7 and Xeon CPUs.

The Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard features an LGA2011-3 socket that will support the upcoming 22nm Intel Core i7 Haswell-E processors. It is based on the Intel X99 Express Chipset and features 8x DIMM slots supporting quad channel memory and up to 64GB in capacity.

OK I was going to get a x99 but now I know that I can't. I am going with the Asus formula vii z97.
