While trying to install my GPU onto my PC, due to faulty online instructions a boot device was removed. now windows won't open and I get three instructions to insert my windows install disk and click "repair my computer". When I do this though, once I click "repair" I get an error message stating the disk isn't compatible with the version of windows I'm trying to repair. I've looked online all day and am getting desperate.

Is it the BIOS that is broken or Windows its self? If it is the bios you can go to your manufacturers website download the BIOS to a USB drive and insert it into the computer and work from there. But if it is Windows there is different things that come into play like is it a prebuilt PC because if so you can reset into factory default and that should work. If it is a custom build then you can either keep on playing around or wipe the drive and reinstall your OS. Good Luck!

Well, one of the boot devices disappeared from the bios which was the start of all this mess but I'm not sure if this means the bios is messed up or it's windows. btw my computer is custom built

If you have the time just keep on messing around but considering you are desperate I would just wide the drive and reinstall the OS but when doing so make sure you have your activation code. Good Luck! Hope this helps!
