I have bought Seagate Expansion 4TB External Hard Drive "3.5.

It's plugged to my router's USB and because of that it doesn't go to sleep when idle (that's another issue), so in other words it's working 24/7.

Two questions:

1. Is that no problem for the hard drive itself? will it not shorten it's lifespan because of that?
2. Will it not kill my electricity bill?

Thanks

About the electricity bill no , these things don't have a large TDP ! It may reduce its lifespan but I have a 1TB one WD that I bought 5 years ago and its completely fine , its always plugged in too. I think you should be fine :)
