I have an OLD computer, 2005, that I'm trying to fix. It gives me 2 short beeps and that is it. Will not boot to the BIOS. This is a first for me.
Removed and reseated both sticks of RAM, 1 at a time. Nada...

Swapped the cmos battery.

Any ideas? Pull the video card?

2 short beeps is a hardware issue

"2 short beeps is a hardware issue"

Indeed it is, any BIOS beeps (except single short beep) mean hardware missing or faulty. Almost certainly a RAM issue as you've already suspected, but not badly seated, just faulty RAM that needs replacing most likely. You can test it with Memtest86 on a bootable CD.
The CD Image is here: http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm#free

If you need free burning utility that can create a CD from a CD Image:

I have memtest86 on USB but the PC will not even boot to BIOS. I can't get the USB to boot. I happened to have some of the same RAM type and replaced the existing. Nada..
ASUS tech support seems to think it's the board. They are suggesting taking it out of the case and running it w/minimums (vid/mem/cpu).

Thoughts?
