So i decided to buy this GPU, i have a 700w XION PSU the card says it needs 750w

I've done some Google searches and it seems i have the symptoms of not enough power? soon as im in a game (less than 5 mins grim dawn, 10-15 mins dota2) whole system shuts down. and i cant turn back on for about 10 seconds unless i flip the psu switch for a few seconds then i can start it back up faster?

does that 50w really make the difference?

What makes XION so bad? ive had this PSU for 4 years never a problem and have used a GTS 250 nvidia and an AMD 6870 never a hitch or slight problem, have i finally reached a peak hardware wise where i need a good brand PSU

(again why is xion bad? some crappy china brand?)

what PSUs would you recommend for this system? (PSUs has always been a scare with swapping out so its the only thing i have zero experience in swapping in a PC)

Power supplies are one of the easiest things to swap out. Don't worry about it. ;) If you swap out feel free to go much lower power. I'm running a 7970/280x also and even if I push it and my CPU to the max I've never broken 400w. I recommend corsair, seasonic, rosewill as the best of the best. I've used all 3 brands and never had a problem. They've all been validated in reviews too. I'm currently running a rosewill HIVE 550w if it helps.

EDIT: Ooh, and EVGA. Never used them but they do well in reviews.

Ok thanks alot guys! semi dumb question how do i know which PSU's are compatible with my MB? or are they all generally the same plug-in (haven't seen the plug in inside the PSU so i have no clue what it looks like)

so is this GPU finally pushing the crappy brand PSU to the max? like i said ive never had any problems so im still wondering what about this GPU is causing it to crash

once again thanks so much for the help this has been a slight nightmare lol EVGA indeed does get good reviews ill definitely check it out!

Thanks alot blackbird very off topic..... rebate cards? seem like a juke, is it in fact only going to cost me 60$ or 80$? id rather not pay that much, if i truly don't need 750w i wouldn't mind something cheaper but im not sure once again GPU recommends 750w but including the guy above us and many others say its not necessary?

no case fans just 2 harddrives and CD drive hooked up

how does http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182071 look

These are probably some of the best of the best. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%2050001697%2050002177%2050002120%2050001669%2050001516%2050001459%2050001402%20600479294%20600479295%20600037998%20600112163&IsNodeId=1&page=2&bop=And&CompareItemList=58%7C17-182-068%5E17-182-068-TS%2C17-207-030%5E17-207-030-TS%2C17-151-088%5E17-151-088-TS%2C17-139-054%5E17-139-054-TS&percm=17-151-088%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B17-139-054%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24

This is my PC at full load (furmark+rendering.) I did bump down the CPU from 4.3 to 4.1 because summer temps. This is at the power strip so this is with speakers and monitor too.
