Acer Aspire M1100 Will Not Boot

My Acer Aspire M1100 will not boot.It powers on, and the fans and everything run, but I get no signal on my monitor (so no BIOS screen) and I don't hear the 'beep'. I've tried opening the case and using canned air to blow out dust, as well as disconnect and reconnect connections as far as the fan, memory, network card, etc. I've had this computer since 2008, and there were 2 years when I didn't use it at all. The hard drive recently died, so I don't know what else to do at this point.

No, I haven't replaced it; I took it out of the computer and was running Pinguy/Xubuntu from a USB stick.

Because you have not replaced it the HDD might be counteracting and messing with the USB so there is a great possibility that the problem. But it could also mean you are not getting enough power through your MOBO so I would make sure you don't have a bad capacitor.

MOBO? Sorry, I'm not up on too many acronyms when it comes to computer stuff. But I may try to put the HDD back in the computer and see what happens.
