I want to upgrade my rig and I'm not sure which route to take. As of now I'm using an AMD 8350 with a GTX 780. I want to add another 780 to SLI. But I also want to switch to an Intel 4790k. Will the 8350 bottleneck the sli 780s? Would you guys get the Intel or add in the second gpu? Eventually I'll probably just end up doing both.

A second 780 would increase your gaming performance significantly, compared to the Intel upgrade solution, which would yield 5-10 fps.

You can go Intel later, but of course that's up to you.

Dont do that Intel line it you're going to upgrade. You'll have one card at x16 and one at x8. Upgrade to x79 if you are going to upgrade the processor.

I assume single 1080? I doubt you need SLI 780s to handle that. You can switch to intel, but I doubt it's worth the $500+. I'd keep looking for a better upgrade, or just keep the money.

If you really want to upgrade would the second gpu do more now,but 4745454b has a good point. You could overclock the cpu to it's max to see if that would help.
