Hi people,

I am new to building pcs. I don't game persay but I want a fast responsive computer. I do occasional light /medium video editing and picture editing, burn dvds and stream music/netflix.
I am partial to intel instead of AMD. I also want the modern ports like USB 3.0. I need windows pro because I understand it is the only 8.x version that allows Remote desktop connections which I use for work.

Would you review my list and let me know if you think this is a good build? I was trying to keep it to $1000 but $1200 is ok if it makes an awesome pc.
Also, this is of secondary importance, but since I don't game really, will the on board video connections work fine for me or should I still buy a video card like I have selected below?

Thanks in advance everyone. I really appreciate each of your replies.

We are all here to help you Sir , your build is quite nice and since you won't be doing intensive video editing then Intel will be a smart choice .

In that budget range I prefer a discrete strong graphics card just in case you decided to throw in a game at some point , while your build is nice I'll try to fit in something better for just the same price , Wait for my build and I'll explain my choices :)

That's a $1259 build yet no graphics card. You don't need an i7 for light/medium video editing.

Try -

Build looks pretty good, of the mobos listed I'd go with the Asus Pro or even their Z87-A, for video editing the 4790K is perfect even for heavy duty work, need to go to a 2011 socket IB-E CPU for better... so it will make for a good build...I'd like a stronger GPU also if budget permits
