video no tplaying properly

i have built a gaming machine but it seems to have an issue with the videos i am playing.
the videos are not playing properly, its 'jerky' and kind of low res. even the HD videos are playing low res. the drivers are installed and its running on Windows 7.
what could be the problem?

What software are you using for video playback? And are you sure the video files are of good quality?

I've always used VLC player, it's free, plays just about anything and is nice and lightweight with no advertising rubbish (just be careful you don't install any extra junk when you go through the installer).

Try a different media player and let us know whether you get the same issues.

yes i am playing in VLC too. there seems to be an issue with something. can't figure out what

you've tried an alternative media player too, just to confirm there's not a software issue with VLC?

Also worth having a bit of play with the hardware decode video settings in the preferences menu to see if they make any difference

yes i've tried other players. still the issue.
it's like when you play a video before installing the video drivers in windows.
