Hello Community,

I just bought a High End Gaming PC and I am thinking to buy an Xbox One in the possible future. On the one hand I could buy a console and don’t upgrade my PC for the next 6 years. On the other I could keep my money and dont upgrade my PC for the next 3 years. I could propably buy a second GTX 780 Ti and another 16 GB of RAM.

Have a Nice Day,

keep your money. if you're ok with console graphics, a PC like that should last you the whole current console gen, maybe even extend to early next gen (say 6-7 years, wild guess), provided nothing breaks down & you lower PC graphics settings as the years go by.

only reason to get a console are the exclusives. even then, i'd wait till you can list out 5-10 you really wanna play.

You certainly have a pretty high end gaming PC there and should last you a good while. As you've noted, being a PC you can always upgrade it. The motherboard/base is always the most critical choice for the more savvy individual as it directly affects longevity - get the best and newest release that you can afford while projecting forward all that you would like to use it for.
Of course, on the other side a latest edition console offers other advantages, however it's primary disadvantage is that you're stuck with the components inside, though from a developers point of view, they get to learn how to extract the best from a stable/known platform (a very important counter balance between a console and pc).

In the end, though, it's up to you. If you're happy having both options then that's good. You'll likely enjoy platform exclusives.

On the other hand how will you chose which game to buy when it's available on both platforms? ...that might be an interesting answer.
