My computer: Dell Inspiron N7010
OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium

So this happens randomly while I'm working. The screen just freezes and weird black or multicolored squares appear, after a while the entire screen sub divides into a normal display and into colorful squares, the computer still doesn't repsond. A while after that the monitor just shuts off. See the below images for a better description.

Usually when I restart it returns to normal only to happen again. But now it just glitches out at the dell logo and the screen shuts down. (No image for this one). If it does successfully start up, windows reports that it was a Blue Screen of death. What is causing the problem and how can it be fixed? Does it have to do with the computer's graphics card or drivers?

Probably a failing graphics card. Try yours in another pc. Try another in your pc.

Check the monitor cable. Try another monitor.

Can't really try it on another PC or try another one on this one as it is a laptop.
I tried another monitor, no signal. (After it goes black)

If you can't test it then you have to just buy a replacement.

Had this happen to me with a unstable cpu overclock before. Is your cpu over clocked?
