Hey everyone,

I am looking to build my first gaming computer with a budget of 1000$ or under. I am currently looking at the Asus GTX 760 Direct CU II, EVGA GTX 760 ACX, Gigabyte GTX 760 Windforce, and MSI GTX 760 Twin FROZR.

What are the pros and cons of these cards, and what would be considered the best?

Here is a link to my desired build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lord_Kazimoto/saved/hVbwr...

Thanks!

What do you intend to do with your build ? EVGA makes the best Nvidia GPUs in my opinion.

Asus, MSI or Gigabyte are one of the best manufacturer when it comes down to Nvidia cards. But I prefer Asus as it has great warranty and excellent customer support. This is totally up to you.

But the Windforce is cheaper than the Direct CU II. However the Asus is the best Nvidia GPU. This totally up to you and preference.

Please post the links here and I will analyse it.

Criticisms of your build:

I suggest going with a higher quality PSU. (https://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-m12...) << Maybe consider this one...

If you need to mitigate the budget, you could change the case if that's not a huge thing... (https://pcpartpicker.com/part/cougar-case-mx300)

If not the case, you could change the motherboard. (https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga97...) << This one is pretty good.

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-970gaming <<< this one is also pretty good.

I'm not sure why you need the wired network adapter if the one onboard is decent enough as is.

Cooler, I suggest just going with a 212 evo. Get a better water cooler down the road if you want.

RAM, get a dual channel kit.

CPU, if you're planning on overclocking anyways, you might want to consider the 8320 over the 8350. It's just a lower binned chip. It can achieve a similar overclock to the 8350. It just might take a bit more on the voltages nothing huge.

HI. if you are buying from the same series (760), the only major difference you need to worry about is the ammount or ram on the card. all the little variations beyond that generally boil down to very monor overclocks and manufacturer gimics like their cooling design. I always pay the extra lil bit to go with a trusted manufacturer like asus or gigabyte.

I looked at your system build by the way, I'd recommend going for multiple sicks of ram so u can properly utilise dual channel. I also suggest a 4core CPU is enough, if knocking it down to 4 cores from 8 saves you money to throw at your GPU/ram it will be worth it :)

I would vouch for the Plait Jetstream edition as it has the cheapest 4GB GDRR5 configuration (to my knowledge anyway). However most games probably wouldn't benefit all that much for the extra 2 gigs of VRAM but if its a build your hoping to keep for a couple of years then why not future proof it.

Still any of those options you have listed are great cards and each excel at something different e.g. if you have a windowed case I would buy the EVGA ACX version as I think its the best looking, but then the Asus cooler gives really good performance so if temps are important to you then go with that.

You won't be disappointed with any of these!

In response to Calnin: I really don't think he needs to opt for a better/more expensive PSU, Corsair are a trusted brand and the wattage output exceeds the recommended amount so it's not like he cheaped out on it! FYI I'm running the Jetstream edition on the 600W version of this PSU and no problems so far!

Corsair is a trusted brand sure. But with this price range, you could opt for a better PSU. The CX series isn't the best and even the EVGA 600B would do slightly better than the CX 600. The 750w is nice with its extra headroom, but I just prefer to see something of higher quality. There's still enough headroom with a 620w. All the ones that I'd probably suggest due to quality are too pricey...
