I have read up about the push/pull config on a rad but cannot seem to come to a conclusion, I building a system and planning at the moment for my fans. Below is a simple illustration, pls bear with me:
|
| air flow
V
------------case
| air flow
V
XXXX - push air to rad
RAD
YYYY - pull air out from rad
|
| air flow
V
into case

Assume XXXX are 2x140fans, and YYYY are 2x140 fans.

Can someone advise me if XXXX should be static pressure fans or highflow fans?
And should YYYY be static pressure fans or highflow fans?

For static pressure, going with corsair SP140 LED
And air flow ones going with corsair AF140 LED

Thanks

If i wasnt clear initially, the rad will be mounted to the top of the case.

Positive pressure helps CFM fans push air, since they have pressurized air to push gives them less strain and higher flow. And have the rads fans push through the rad, pulling through the rad makes them work harder and actually blocks air towards the center of the fans. Imagine a cone with a hollow center.
