I was thinking of buying this case with a 500watt psu for this system

AMD 6300
500gb HD
R9 270X

You think that PSU will be ok? my wife had one with a 7850 and after a month the psu popped. But i think it might have been a fluke

More about : buying case psu

Bundled power supplies are very poor most of the time , not a fluke.

The case does not specify the PSU model and at $35 for a case + PSU combo, this means you probably get the cheapest PSU-shaped object with a 500W sticker Microcenter, CoolerMaster or middlemen could get their mitts on at the time the case was put together.

If the case you're buying isn't an EVGA or Silverstone case, then its 95% likely that the PSU that comes with it is garbage.

I can sell you an EVGA case with a Diablotek PSU installed if you'd like.

The PSUs bundled with cases are not necessarily from the same vendor as the case they ship in... particularly when the PSU brand and model are not specified in the case's spec sheet.

Eh I didn't mean their older stuff, only their newest efforts, those Hadron Air and Hydro series cases which include pretty decent 80Plus Gold units.

Did you even bother to read the reviews from that link you posted? That should help...
