I think my system booting function is corrupted and my laptop won't restart at all. I accidentally ran a Windows XP recovery disk, so now I can manage to get to the Advanced Recovery Menu but all the options gives me an error message in blue screen. Is it possible to download a recovery disk onto a USB on another computer, then use it on my Toshiba laptop? Where can I find a compatible download for free?

Unfortunately, Vista has no free online installer or recovery disks. You will need to get one from Toshiba or attempt a recovery from the Toshiba recovery partition on your hard drive, however, this only works if the hard drive is functional.
This is a *destructive* recovery and will reset your machine to the original factory settings with all data erased.
