This is a weird question. Does anyone know of a computer component that I could install on to my desktop to act as an outlet. I am going to college and am limited to two wall outlets (power stripes not allowed) but my computer uses 3 (1 for tower, 1 for main monitor, 1 for secondary monitor). Does anyone know of such a device or any other solution?

I dont think what your after is a thing, however I do know of one possible solution (other than just using a strip anyway, because are they really gonna check?).

Information on what specifically he did is light in the thread, but for his monitor stand he basically spliced two more ATX connectors onto the one cable to make it neater (is about 2/3 the way down the OP).

If your handy with a soldering iron or know an electrician, don't see why you cant do the same. I wouldn't recommend powering the two monitors and the PC off the one spliced cable, but two monitors should be fine, thats like ~250W at maximum.

I wouldnt worry too much about the restriction on this.

I had the same at my Uni, never once checked and I was using a 6way power strip.

Just dont draw some much power you fry the fuses, they might notice!

That.... would get noticed. They do room checks every so often would be my guess, a room of junkers would be noticed.

On a side note, my old PC with a 9800GTX used to lay on its side and keep my feet warm in winter while I was at uni :D
