How much do you think I could get for this gaming rig?

How much do you guys think I could get for a machine with an fx 8350, two Gigabyte 7970's in crossfire, XFX Pro 1050 PSU, Biostar T series mobo, and NZXT Phantom 410 case? I would add 8 gigs of probably G skill ram and a hard drive to make it a working complete build if it was worth it. But I got this whole setup very cheap and was wondering what it would be worth if completed.

I would think the dual 7970's would be quite attractive to most, but I know most gamers also like to piece their machines together, instead of buying a complete rig. Would it be better to just part it out?

Solution
Its going to depend on its age, whether its been overclocked or not and how dinged up the case is I think. Theirs also details like the HDD/SSD, RAM, OS, the exact mobo, any cooling, etc that you need to include as well.

Say... $1500-1600.

Oh wow. That is a lot more than I thought. Everything was purchased new 8 months ago, and nothing has ever been overclocked. The case is a little dinged up, but only like 2 very small dents and one small scratch. The motherboard is a TA990FXE. I would have to purchase the HDD/SSD RAM and OS, as well as a CPU cooler. I would most likely just go with a hyper 212 EVO and a western digital black 1TB.

I think your best bet is to go on ebay and look at what your parts are SELLING for (has bids, buy-it-now history) not what people are listing it for. Used is used, doesn't matter if its 1 day or 1 year. With a lot of new stuff on the horizon component prices are dropping..even for new stuff. As a rule of thumb I'd expect probably 70% of what I paid for a used product.

as far as your graphics cards.. I don't know what the part # is..but I found

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gigabyte-Radeon-HD-7970-3GB-384-bit-GDDR5-PCI-E-x16-GV-R797OC-3GD-GPU-Video-Card-/331280805419?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item4d21dfee2b @ $175

used FX 8350 is probably $110-120

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xfx-P11050BEFX-1050w-Pro-Black-Edition-Psu-Pwr-W-Full-Modular-Cables-80-Plus-/201150290729?pt=PCA_UPS&hash=item2ed57ddb29 no bids at $130/175 buy it now. I imagine you could get it sold for $115-135

used biostar TA990FXE
$75-85

used hard drives aren't worth selling plus its a risk with your data on there..(yes even if you just reformat)
you might as well keep your case for a new build because you'll lose out quite a bit due to shipping.

I think 1500-1600 is wayyy to high an estimate..unless your cards end up being a different model.. I'd say you're looking more around the $750-850 mark mark.

Yea I thought 1500-1600 was awfully high. I bought the case, 8350, two 7970's, biostar motherboard, and XFX power supply for $250. So I got it for a steal. I was just trying to make a little money out of the deal. I have someone willing to pay $200 for one 7970. I think I am just going to keep the rest and maybe try and piece together a new build or something.

I'm honestly having a hard time selling these 7970's because I got them for such a good deal. But I really don't game all that hard, so I don't really need dual 7970's in crossfire.

Wow, yeah That's quite a steal..how'd you manage that. but yeah.. $1500-1600 is way out there..not sure where he got those numbers..but in any case you could certainly sell both cards and get 1 beefy one. as the rest of the build is totally fine..no point upgrading the fx 8350.

A buddy of mine was moving over seas and was selling all his stuff. He didn't really need the money and knew I was into computers. So he just said $250 for everything. He had already sold his h100i cooler and ram, and kept his hard drive. But I already had a rig with a 6350, 260x, and a SSD in it, but a crappy HP mobo. And I believe on prebuilt machines like that, I can't change out motherboards as windows is somehow linked to my motherboard. This is just what I have read though, I never tried for my self.
