My computer is currently not working.
I tried diagnosing it, but the motherboard seems to be dead.
I put my GTX580 into another computer and everything worked fine. Next, I did the paperclip test on the PSU, AND plugged it into another computer which booted fine. I tried a single stick of ram in each slot, and never got any beep codes for memory issues.
I checked the for bent pins, and everything looked good. I doubt it was CPU because I would check the temps often and it only hit above 45-50 when playing games.

That being said, I was thinking of upgrading to Haswell because my mobos broke and the z77 mobos I want are around the same price as some Z97 boards I've been looking at.
I was going to upgrade:

i5 2500k > i5 4670k
Asus P8P67 > sub $200 ($100-$175) Z97

I can get the i5 4670K for $150 from a friend.
I was then going to sell my i5 2500k and Asus P8P67 and put that money towards a z97 board.

So is it worth upgrading considering my circumstances?

The upgrade is very worth it, especially considering the price at which you can get the CPU. I would suggest the Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming 5 or 7 for the mobo.

I was looking at these: http://www.squidoo.com/best-z97-pc-gaming-motherboards-...

But to be honest I only just considered upgrading to Haswell about an hour ago, so I don't know anything about good motherboards and whatnot...
