R9 280x is great. You can OC that thing a ton. I have a HD 7970. But like you said GTX 770 is good to.

Yeah, this is my first build, so my primary objective is to get the computer up and running. Once that is done, I will buy a video card, an SSD, and aftermarket cooler, fans, etc. Is $850 unreasonable for what I have? My end budget will be about $1200, which I think is okay.

Oh so you are adding a GPU, and such in a few days after? Thats fine, wasn't sure if you planned to use integrated graphics.
