I started a thread similar to this one yesterday (not about these specific cases), but still need some help.
I'm looking for a new case and have pretty much narrowed it down to either the Cooler Master HAF 912 or the Cooler Master HAF 922.
I have heard great things about both of these cases.
The 912 comes with two 120mm fans, so I was thinking about buying Cooler Master Sleeve Bearing 120mm Silent Fan (4 pack) and installing a few of them.
The 922 comes with two 200mm fans and one 120mm, is bigger, has USB 3.0, and has a mostly tool-less design. It is $30 more, however.
If anyone has used either of these cases or has any other recommendations, please post. I'm trying to keep it under $100.
Thank you.

Does the HAF 922 have a feature that you absolutely need?I don't think so. But I'm not opposed to spending the extra $30 if it truly is a better case. The tool-less design is nice (as long as everything is built well), and the 200mm fans should provide some good airflow. It is also a bit bigger.

If you are comfortable about spending the extra 30$ for the 922, then go for it, because, as you said, it's better. It actually would be worth it. Also, I found the HAF 912 for only 50$:

I'm leaning more towards the 922. It does have some nice extra features over the 912. It's still not an easy decision, as many people have used both and chosen the 912. Maybe personal preference, but that is why I'm asking the question
I saw the price at Amazon earlier and would probably buy it there. Thank you, though!

Out of those 2 I would pick the HAF 922. But, the NZXT Phantom Full Tower case is on sale for just $10 more. It's a bigger case, which means more stuff can fit in it. It also comes with 4 fans.

I actually just made a build with a 912 (not for me). It's a fine case but for me it has too many open spaces that I would need to place filters in or completely close off. The 922 is a fine case but it is a big mid tower case compared to 912 and some people may not care for the space it eats up on the floor or desk.

The NZXT does look nice, although I would prefer a black case. I'll have to look into. You're making my decision harder!
Thank you.

I'm not too worried about the size. I have a case holder under my desk. I'm pretty sure either case would fit just fine.
How is the noise level on the 912? Both with just the fans and with all of the components running? What about the 922 (if you've worked with it).
Thank you.

noise comes from fans so it would mostly depend on the fans/coolers you use, the 922 uses larger fans at a slower speed so that will definitely impact noise for the better. Both cases are rather open so you won't be holding back noise unless you install some noise dampers. Ive played around with the 922 but never built with it. Between the two and space not being an issue, it would be my choice to build in although I prefer cases that take up less space. Like I said, no wrong choice between the two.

Noise is my only concern with it. Like you said, they are rather open cases. I don't think they would be too loud, but it's always good to know before buying.
It's looking like the HAF 922 is going to be my choice. If cooling isn't what I want it to be, I can always buy a 200mm fan and put it on the side. Or buy a 120mm or 140mm fan and put it on the bottom of the case, which should blow cool air straight onto the GPU.
Still looking at the Phantom, but the 922 is looking good.
Thank you for the help.

I use foam in my corsair 400R case, does the job plus closes the side panel so I don't need to install dust panels there. With 2 x 120mm as intake and 3 x 140mm as exhaust, air flow is not an issue even with the side panel closed.

It's a good deal for how big the case is. The 4 fans don't hurt either.

I'll definitely look into this if the case I get turns out to be too loud.
Thank you.
