Advise on upgrading my graphic card

hi,

I have HD7850 seasonic 500W power supply i5-3450 and 8GB ddr3 ram

what graphic card can I buy for about 250$ that will have a good performance increase over the HD7850 and will enable to play games Rome2, Civ5, World of tanks, and the upcoming Civilization beyond earth on the best graphics detail?
my screen resolution is 2560 x 1080?
will I need to change the power supply?

About the strongest cards you can buy with $250 would be a R9-280 or a GTX760.
These cards are not that big of a jump over your 7850, and you run the risk of being disappointed if you don't see a major improvement.

A GTX760 would run on your excellent Seasonic 500w psu. A R9-280 may want more.

Unless your time frame is urgent, You might want to see what the upcoming GTX870 and GTX880 cards offer. September/October time frame.
They are Maxwell architecture and if the power efficiency of the GTX750 is any indication, they may well run fine on 500w.
