Okay, I have the option of buying either the 1600MHz or 1866MHz hyperx fury 16GB. Both going for the same price.

Is this set up going to allow for 1866MHz RAM? Please take a look at my CPU and Motherboard. For some reason I was under the impression that the 4790k would only go upto 1600MHz?

Solution
For 1600 and up, it will set up the sticks for you, when you first install DRAM normally goes straight to the mobo default which is generally 1066-1333 and occasionally 1600, used to be you'd go into the BIOS and set the freq, timings, CR and DRAM voltage manually, now you just enable XMP, and just about all DRAM 1600 and over has XMP with the exception ot the Kingston Fury sticks, they depend on PnP

It's not anything that will make my warranty void is it? I also don't want it to significantly reduce the life of my components either.

Is what I'm saying stupid? : ) -Just trying to be careful.

Hyper X Fury doesn't use XMP profiles - they depend on PnP (Plug and Play), haven't gotten any of these sticks since they have a slow CL (10 on 1600 and 1866), but they are Supposed to work

Could you suggest the best you can for around 140 euros? I'd really appreciate it.
