I am building a very cheap budget computer with mostly used parts off of Ebay and I have it all put together (minus the cd drive) and it won't turn on. I turn on the power supply and the cpu fan will turn on and run for maybe 2 seconds then turn off. I push the power button and nothing happens. As far as I know I am getting power to the motherboard (green light on motherboard is on when power supply is on) but it just won't turn on.

I don't know if I am missing anything but this is only my second build and it has been about a year.

Solution
1) Did you hear a "click" when installing the RAM to make sure it was in all the way?
2) Do you have the heat sink plugged in?
3) Did you properly plug in the power switch cable into the proper 2-pin plug on the motherboard?
4) Is your PSU plugged into the mobo?

I looked at that thread and It seems I have done everything correctly. No bent pins etc...It's a core 2 duo with an intel board (I know, not the best), seagate barracuda 500 gb hard drive. 4 gb dell RAM (all I have) and a coolmax power supply. All pretty crappy parts but cheap enough for me to use as a work computer.
