Hi everyone,

I just installed a nzxt g10 and a nzxt x41 setup on both my xfx 7970 hd and my visiontech hd 7970 (which are being crossfired). My cards before the install would get to about 85 degrees under heavy load. After installing the cooling setup, i ran Sleeping Dogs and was pleased to see that my temperatures under load dropped to about 45 degrees. However, after that i ran a benchmark called Unigin Heaven and immediately after I started to run it, my second gpu decided to skyrocket to 97 degrees. So i exited the benchmark and now anytime I try to log onto a game the temperatures jump to 90+ even just in a title screen. Current processor is a i5 3570k (not overclocked) if that helps.

Thank You

Try reapplying the g10/x41. I've heard those can be a real PITA at times, and you basically want to "Over tighten" them (the actual block) by about a quarter turn, just be careful.

Just took them off and re-applied thermal paste and tightened down further than last time. card still acting wierd

Sorry thatsnthe only reccomendation I've got. I still think its a install issue (nothing personal I just know they're tricky) because your temps should be drastically lowetb

Just read on NZXT that people have problems with it also. turns out the copper on the cooler does not make adequate contact with 79xx cards. turns out there is a shim specifically for this reason from EKWB.

Thankyou for your help!

Yep glad I could help. Hope the shim gets your temps down.
