Do I need thermal paste for my i7 4790k?

I know it comes pre-applied but is there any point getting more on Amazon or is the pre-applied one fine?

Don't really want to have to spend more money :|

If it is pre-applied they wouldn't make it poorly, being the best processor in the market. It should be fine, but if you ever have heat issues you could always apply your own.

the only time you need more is if you drop the cooler and it make an oreo cookie like smear on the table or your shirt. or if you put the cpu or cooler on wrong and have to break the cooler off the cpu. if an air bubble gets into the paste it wont work well. if you put the cooler on right then the paste that comes with the cooler will be fine for a few years.

You can use the pre-applied , but I use this it's better.
