So I built my first pc, and it worked great all summer. I moved into the dorms. I accidentally switched the ac adapter for my comp and ps3. Would that have damaged my psu?
Now when I run the sims3, it shuts off, but the time depends on where its plugged in. On a serge protector, it after about 10 minutes. On the wall (with the serge protector in the other hole) it was 2+ hours. On a outlet by itself I played probably 2.5+ hours before I had to leave, it didnt shut off.
Problem is, b/c its a dorm I can't get it on a outlet by itself b/c of layout issues.
It's not getting above 40C, which I think is pretty good. It shuts off only when playing games, then immediately tries to restart itself. Or sometimes its just the graphic card that shuts off, but the computer stays running, making me think its a power issue.
Do you think its b/c its a dorm and has bad power outlets, or is the psu going bad b/c I switched the wires. Its a corsair 600w I got new in June. Any suggestions would be great:)

no the monitor (a tv actually) stays on, as does my alarm clock. Im going to experiment tonight with using the empty outlet and see how long it can actually go. Maybe its just a bad / overloaded outlet. Dorm life stinks
