What do you guys think of the k70 rgb? Worth the high price tag for the extra colours and features?

You can now pre-order it from newegg for $170!
This will be my first good mechanical keyboard and I'm hoping it will last a very long time, and yes I am a fan of flashing lights.

Personally, if I had that much to spend on a keyboard that is what I would buy. That is just my opinion though.

Might be worth going for the K95 variant instead. I believe it's about $20 higher in price, but macro keys come in handy. Even if you aren't a heavy user of macros, it's nice to keep options available. You never know when ONE game will come along, where setting up a fast autoclicker or autowalk button will come in handy.

Personally, I had an old Alienware TactX (lol) that served me very well. I never used the macro keys though, until a few years after I got it. I was playing Minecraft, and there was a server that was modded to have a shop to sell items. You had to click once per item sold, and I had to sell thousands. That was the first time I tried out a macro in a game, and it was beautiful.

Since then, I've used macros in hundreds of situations. Usually to avoid mundane grinds and carpel tunnel.

Definitely consider keeping the option open if you're willing to dish out the cost of a large pizza. Although, the K95 RGB might be release a few weeks after the K70. Worth the wait though for a keyboard that will last through years of solid use and abuse.
