I was gonna buy a motherboard at the end of the month so I was thinking if is it okay to buy a Z97 board for my i7 4770k, stores in my area is offering Z97 boards and the Z87 boards are at the brink of extinction. So is it somehow too much? I know that it will just do fine cuz' Z97 boards are haswell and 5th gen compatible, I really need some opinion because I'm targeting an Asus Z97 Maximus VII Hero or a mainstream Asus Z97-A plus a new headset (my headset broke), or a mechanical keyboard.. Thanks in advance

I actually thought of it, I watched a review from oc3d that the voltage control on Haswell was integrated inside the chip which was revised on its Has. Refresh and intel put the voltage control on the board along with the chipset. A lot of people speculates that one of the reason why the first haswell has thermal issues was because of this. Im not really much of a technical guy, correct me if im wrong. its a week to think, thinking to flex my budget a bit ..
