DVI-D To HDMI on Acer G245HQ Not Working

I have a problem where I purchased a DVI-D to HDMI adapter for my Acer G245HQ monitor, and whenever I try to plug in my PS3 (via HDMI) it used to say on my monitor while on the DVI input "Cable Not Connected" but now it's just a black screen whenever I try. Does anybody know why? My monitor is HDCP compatible, but it just won't work.

I'm assuming you are connecting the ps3 to the acer with only an hdmi cable (ie- no adapter in the mix). Now all you need to do is press the input button on the front of the monitor and select HDMI so the monitor will display whats cooming in on htat port. The three options it has is VGA, DVI, and HDMI.

Ditto if the adapter you have converts a dvi to work with the hdmi cable already plugged into the Acer.
