DVI-D To HDMI on Acer G245HQ Not Working

I have a problem where I purchased a DVI-D to HDMI adapter for my Acer G245HQ monitor, and whenever I try to plug in my PS3 (via HDMI) it used to say on my monitor while on the DVI input "Cable Not Connected" but now it's just a black screen whenever I try. Does anybody know why? My monitor is HDCP compatible, but it just won't work.

What adapter do you have? Is it a DVI (plugs into the monitor) and you plug your HDMI cable into the adapter? I have one of those, and it is a bit of a tight fight....takes a bit of force to insert the cable. These adapter are handy, but they wear out if you are changing connections often....

Also, check on your monitor to make sure the input is "DVI".
