Hello Community.

TP-LINK W8970 ADSL Modem/Router.
ASUS RT-N16 Router
OS: Windows 8.1 (64)

Is it possible to connect My TP-LINK W8790 as Modem Only to An ASUS RT-N16 for all my home networking?
Or if there is an easier better way to do this please let me know....

I have an issue id really appreciate some help with.
How do I connect my TP-LINK W8970 ADSL Modem/Router Combo to my ASUS RT-N16.
I get my broadband by phone line ADSL connection from TalkTalk. So
Id like to use my TP-LINK W8970 as A Modem only then connect my ASUS RT-N16 Router as my main Router with WLAN for all my devices. Is this possible ?
If it is can someone kindly explain to me how I can make this connection successful?
Im an absolute beginner to anything like this, ive searched thoroughly, but there's so much differing info. ive not been able to get anything I try to work.
Has anyone here had any experience doing this that can tell me how to do it in laymens terms please?

Solution
Yes, you should be able to use the Tplink as only a modem, and hook the Asus up as the router. Just plug the modem into the internet port of your router.
